Asara BeTevet - Yom HaShoah Journal

Grandmothers

The woman on the left is Serena Perl, a"h,
Gush alumnus Doniel Fodiman's great-grandmother.
The woman on the right is Anna Rosenthal, 'שתחי,
Gush alumnus Adam Hoffman's grandmother.
Serena and Anna are sisters who from March, 1942 to May, 1945 were prisoners
in Auschwitz, Birkenau, Ravensbruck, and NeuStadt-Glebe.
They were dedicated to each other and outsmarted death too many times to count.
Now Doniel and Adam are spending a year learning together in Yeshivat Har Etzion.
If those incredible women could have known during those dark times that they would have grandchildren and great-grandchildren
in The Jewish homeland learning Torah together...
would they have believed it and been comforted? or laughed in disbelief!
Every tale of survival is a miracle.
This one is ours and the miracle continues,
BeChasdei Hashem, this 50th year in The Gush.
