Rav Avraham Walfish

Ordained a rabbi by Rabbi Zalman Nehemiah Goldberg, Rav Walfish holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Yeshiva University and master's and PhD degrees from Hebrew University. He wrote his dissertation on "The Literary Editing Method in the Mishna" and deals extensively with the use of literary tools in order to reveal in the Talmudic sources (Mishna, Tosefta, Talmudic, Halachic and legendary) the thought and spiritual foundations on which they are based. Serves as rabbi (volunteer) for the Sukkot David Synagogue in Tekoa. Until his retirement in 1990, he taught in various and varied settings, including Herzog College, Jerusalem College, Bar-Ilan University, Pardes Institute and Yeshiva Tekoa.
