Harav Amital's View on Zionism
Certain moments throughout the year stirred profound reflection in Rav Amital - Yom Ha'Atzmaut, Yom Yerushalayim, and Rosh Hashana were occasions when he contemplated the immense significance of the State of Israel. His arrival in the land, on the second night of Chanuka in the shadow of World War II, became a defining moment of his life - a mythical "rebirth". On this day, his family conducted an annual celebration granting him yet another opportunity to meditate on the miraculous restoration of the Jewish people to their homeland.
