Rav Binyamin Tabory z"l was an inspired and inspiring teacher of Torah. But he was much more. There are textbooks and text people. Rav Tabory was a text person. He was a living embodiment of Torah values at their best, an outstanding role model of what it is to be both holy and human, aspiring to the heights yet at the same time understanding the limits we all have, and showing us love and respect nonetheless.
The generations of those privileged to be his students will carry something of him in their character for the rest of their lives, and we, who knew him a little less closely, nonetheless felt lifted by him. We were enlarged by his presence and by his character. He endured much suffering in his last years, but the love with which he was surrounded was itself a testimony to the love he had given so many for so long. Truly it was a gift to know such a man, and what he taught us will stay with us as his lasting legacy. - Rabbi Jonathan Sacks
